Our work in Waitangirua will bring us upgraded roads and pipes. We’ll welcome new neighbours into new homes of a range of sizes. And we’ll do it by working with our community to make this an even greater place to live.
Vision
Te Rā Nui, Eastern Porirua Development will help to create more opportunities for more local home ownership, new jobs and more businesses to thrive in Waitangirua. We’ll be using the land more efficiently to not only replace the number of older Kāinga Ora homes, but also provide new homes for the Porirua housing market.
There will be a mixture of standalone homes, terrace homes and apartments. The new homes will be warm, dry and healthy, with double glazing, insulation and modern materials and fittings inside and out.
At the same time, Te Rā Nui looks to positively contribute to the total wellbeing of the area, from its people through to its roads, infrastructure, green spaces and waterways. We'll look at ways we can enhance parks and public spaces, providing places for locals to connect, reflect and enjoy Waitangirua.
