Eastern Porirua Community Survey
How do we know if we’re getting it right? Eastern Porirua is going through some big changes. Every four years we’ll run a survey to track how Te Rā Nui is contributing to outcomes here.
Eastern Porirua Outcomes Framework
Our survey in 2024 helped us build a baseline for what we measure in the future.
We need to make sure Te Rā Nui is helping create the kinds of outcomes that locals want. That’s why, we’re tracking community wellbeing here over 20-25 years.
To do this, we developed an Outcomes Framework. This will guide how we collect information across seven connected kete (outcome areas).
We’ve gathered a lot of information on outcomes in Porirua. One of our sources for doing this was the Eastern Porirua Community Survey in 2024. Many of these findings are detailed in our baseline report, which you’ll find here:
How did the survey start?
Our research grew from chatting with locals about what matters most.
In 2023, we held nine talanoa with a range of locals. We spoke with younger, older and disabled people to find out what we all need to live our best lives here.
These talanoa helped us shape our survey. Along with information we gathered at He Ara in 2019 and Hui Tahi Tātou in 2023, (external link) we used our findings to build the questions we’ll ask every four years.
We also checked with a wide range of people and groups to make sure the survey would work well for the eastern Porirua community.
