Flood resilience projects

Over the past year, the Māngere Development and Auckland Council have been working closely together to tackle some long-standing flooding issues in Māngere East and Te Ararata. Fixing these challenges now makes the whole area safer in heavy rain. Both projects will significantly reduce flood risk for local whānau and give the neighbourhood long-term resilience.

Key projects underway:

• Te Ararata Creek Flood Resilience Project – on track for completion mid-2026
  

• Harania Creek Flood Resilience Project – also due to be finished in mid-2026

These upgrades, along with our own civil works, will help protect both the homes we build and those already here.
