An even better Catalina Bay is
on the way

Catalina Bay is changing to better support the growing community. New paths, seating and landscaped areas will make it easier for people to walk, meet friends and enjoy the waterfront.

Making space for people

Creating a safer, more welcoming waterfront for people to enjoy.

We're improving Catalina Bay to make it safer and more enjoyable for everyone. New paths, seating and planting will create a welcoming waterfront where people of all ages can walk, shop, eat and spend time together.

Changes to traffic and parking will help make the area calmer and easier to get around on foot. The goal is to create a vibrant community space that supports local businesses and makes the most of the waterfront location.

Why here? Why now?

Bringing the long-term vision for Catalina Bay to life.

Catalina Bay is growing to meet the needs of more people. The next stage of work will improve access to the waterfront, public spaces and local businesses.

The changes will create a more welcoming place for locals and visitors to spend time by the water. It will be easier to walk around, enjoy the views and make the most of everything Catalina Bay has to offer.

What's happening, when?

Work planned to keep Catalina Bay open and easy to use

Work will be carried out in stages so people can continue to use Catalina Bay while improvements are underway. Shops, businesses, the ferry and other key places will remain open and accessible throughout the project. Access routes will be clearly marked to help people move around safely.

The work will move through different parts of Catalina Bay over time. Once the upgrades are complete, vehicle access to the waterfront area will be limited, helping create a safer and more people-friendly space.

But I love my car!

Making it easier to get around Catalina Bay without a car.

As more people visit Catalina Bay, changes are being made to create a safer and more enjoyable waterfront. The focus is on making it easier for people to walk, cycle, scoot or use public transport to get around.

Public parking will still be available near Catalina Bay, including along Launch Road and Bomb Point Drive. Mobility parking and drop-off areas will also remain available close to the waterfront.

Clear signs will help people find their way between the ferry, shops, restaurants and public spaces. These changes will make it easier for everyone to enjoy time by the water.
